Amie Prescott

In an effort to “live out loud” I thought I’d share something.

Tonight was date night. Not because Wednesday’s are date night but because if we didn’t get out tonight then it wasn’t happening until next week.

Unacceptable. We do date night every week.

We had a great time out alone. Talking, flirting and finishing our Christmas prep (and yes, we closed lol).

The effect was a deepened appreciation for this woman at my side and a reminder that it’s always getting better when we commit to it being great now.

This may seem preposterous, but my kids know they take a back seat to Amie.

My wife is #1.

Does this lessen the love I have for my kids?

Nope.

It heightens it.

They have an example of both how to treat their spouse and what the standard is for anyone they become involved with. I single them out too and give as they deserve; but they know who my Queen is.

I notice that people get this backwards. Kids come first. Then they wonder why they don’t have committed or engaged spouses and have weak sex lives.

Duh. Don’t be dumb people. It’s not that hard. It’s just not normal.

Try it. Lay down the law and make your spouse number one. Give love to your kids, but NEVER at the expense of your spouse.

Watch your kids swell with love knowing that Mom / Dad is that important to the other and that they can have that too.

Anyway..

Merry Christmas ya’ filthy animals..
